The Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice Regarding on General and Occupational Health of the Employees in Small Scale Industry with Less than 5 Workers

Abstract
In order to investigate the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) ON general and occupational health in small scale industry less than 5 workers, the self-administered questionnaire survey was carried out on 565 workers in 240 industries.

The results were as follows:

1. There were no significant difference among total mean scores (TMCs) of KAP by age except for several items in general and occupational health.

2. There was no significant difference between male and female subjects on TMC of KAP in occupational health. But female TMC on practice in general health is higher than that of male.

3. The TMC of blue color worker was significantly higher than that of white color in the aspect of attitude and practice of general health. But there was no such tendency in occupational health.

4. There were no significant difference among the TMC of KAP in the type of industry for general and occupational health except for the TMC of knowledge in general health.

5. The TMCs were highly correlated among knowledge, attitude, and practice in occupational health and were not showed the correlation between knowledge and practice in general health.

This study is meaningful in the aspect of required data to evaluate the general and occupational health service for small scale industry with less than 5 workers. Also, the education for general health should be considered the related items such as sex, job title, and job category et al. Especially, it is anticipated that the effect of occupational health education is very high due to judging from the correlation between knowledge, attitude, and practice each other.
